Owner, Nick Herrick, Jr. fell in love with woodworking in the seventh grade. In high school he took as many woodworking classes as he could and right out of high school was hired on at an architectural millwork shop in Edison, NJ. He spent four years as an apprentice before getting his certification as a cabinetmaker from the US Department of Labor.
As he was finishing up his apprenticeship, Nick met his wife, Sherri, and moved to Ohio where he continued working as a cabinetmaker.
His dream was to open his own shop and in 2006 his dream became a reality. Since then, Nick has had the prestige of working on some high profile projects including three pieces for The Ohio State University and several podiums for the 2016 presidential race.
Nick continues his passion for woodworking by designing one of a kind pieces for his clients.
Sherri Herrick's first job was busing tables in a local restaurant at fourteen years old. At twenty, she was hired by a large company to work in their corporate offices. She worked her way up to being a team lead in their billing help desk, assisting shops across the country.
She now uses those same customer service skills to assist her husband, Nick, run Herrick's Custom Furniture. Sherri spends most of her time handling the administrative side of the business, however, she can sometimes be found in the shop working along side Nick.
